Steve,

Well, we will have to get more specific because I searched the "My profile" member area menu page as noted page with my development tools and could find no page labeled 'homepage" at all.

Please Send me an email instead of using this location as some of the page codes should not put in this public space.

See http://www.paceship.org/ppp_contact.asp?OwnerID=279 to send me an email.

Please tell me the exact page you are using, you can copy and paste the URL for unique identity and then please tell me exactly on the page for find the field in question. The field before and after it might be a good way to id it.

I have a feeling we are missing one another as to the page or issue!

Jay

Hi Jay,
Is there a way to prevent those annoying essays irrelevant to the forum that appear from time to time?  (rudder doing great!)

Hi Bill,

Yes, there is a way to prevent those postings. They are created by so called "Spam bots"; automated bots (programs) that sign up and post such stuff.

It takes an upgrade to our forum which we had planned to do when proceeds from our decal offering and other donations allowed us to do so.

Unfortunately, only 3% of our members helped us by buying decals or made some other donation (and thank you very much for all who did...it ALMOST paid for the initial cost of the decals and our hosting costs for last year).

I personally know several dozen people who have benefited directly from the site getting help or support (from TPW volunteers or TPW members who they would otherwise NEVER find if the TPW did not exist) who have never chosen to help TPW in any way. Some of these members VERY extensively use TPW for help, community or enjoyment in general.

Unfortunately, TWP may ultimately go the way of so many sites (including the worlds news organizations) on the net that are dying because of no support by people who utilize them who seem to to think it is ok to "leave it up to others" to provide the support that any site needs to stay alive.

I think it is reasonable to expect that most everyone can spare 15 bucks for a couple of details (all proceeds go to the site), but hey...even if one can't ANY donation whether $1, or 2 or 5 or 9 helps. The donation button is below the menu bar on the left on most any page on the main site! (and NO you don't have to sign up for PayPal to buy decals or make a donation...you can use most any credit card securely to do same).

Frankly, we have talked many times over the last few years of shutting it finally but so far have decided to keep it open for those relatively few wonderful members who support the site financially, with information, documents, photos that help others and those who post info and provide real time support on the forum.

So THANK YOU you all those who are NOT part of the 97% of members who leave it to YOU top provide support to the site and all members who come to this forum.

As for you 97% of members who have not yet stepped up, you have the opportunity to be part of the group who helps us keep this altruistic adventure going!

When we get some dollars we can upgrade the forum!

Jay
