Robin Johnson's journey has been delayed as a result of "scheduling difficulties" with his employer. Rather than leave is employer "on the lurch" Robin decided to do the honorable thing and delay his adventure. That's good new for his employer but might be not so good news for Robin as the new date for launch is sunday January 20th (or so) - right in the midst of the toughest part of the New England winter.
As if November weather was not going to be a big enough challenge, he'll now face much tougher seas and of course the winter bitter cold. Those of you who hail from New England know that is the time when many of the notorious "Nor 'easters" impose themselves on the area and and any mariners daring the cold seas.
As with everything, there is still a bit of a silver lining as it allows Robin more time on the job to earn more safety gear and other good to have items for the trip. Those items may likely be even more critical now. Robin is still on the scout for a cheap zodiac and some other safety gear as we speak.
Stay tuned as we will keep you up to date as the day tick by towards the new launch date! |
